Tim Bates worked as a claims adjuster for a major insurance
company until he accepted an academic scholarship to attend the Southern
Methodist University School of Law. After graduating law school near the
top of his class, Tim worked for the largest law firm in Dallas,
Texas. Tim's first legal duties included defending litigation claims for
large clients such as Ford Motor Company, Cigna Health Plan, Kodak,
Travelers Insurance Companies, Eastman Chemical Company, and
In late 1989, Tim realized that injured people and their families needed better
representation so he left the large defense firm and started
representing injured people and their families. In 1994, after winning several trials, Tim
Bates became Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas
Board of Legal Specialization.
In 2010, Tim obtained a trial verdict for the Plaintiff exceeding Two
Million Two Hundred Thousand Dollars against a group of New York,
Nevada, and California defendants. Justice was obtained for Tim's client
in a Las Vegas, Nevada court room. The wealthy Defendants hired New
York, California and Nevada defense lawyers and only offered a pretrial
settlement of One Hundred Thousand Dollars to the Plaintiff.

Tim Bates was born in a Federal Housing project with little chance
for a quality education and success in this world. Because of this
background, Tim rejected a lawyer's life of representing the rich and
dedicated his law career to representing and fighting for real people
with real injuries. Most of these fights are against major corporations
on a contingency fee with Tim advancing the expenses.
Justice and fairness do not always exist in this unbalanced world,
but Tim Bates and the Bates Law Firm continue to fight for those
injured by others.
